CCS Guidelines for the Application of Additional Marks to Seagoing Vessels will take effect on June 1
China Classification Society GUIDELINES FOR THE APPLICATION OF ADDITIONAL MARKS TO SEAGOING VESSELS will take effect on June 1
CCS has comprehensively combed the additional mark of appendix1 in Chapter 2 of the first part of RULES FOR CLASSIFICATION OF SEA-GOING STEEL SHIPS. For each classification symbols and additional mark, research its content and technical requirements, and compiled GUIDELINES FOR THE APPLICATION OF ADDITIONAL MARKS TO SEAGOING VESSELS will take effect on June 1, 2019.
The Classification Symbols and additional mark contained in this guide are based on currently valid specifications, guidelines, and other acceptable equivalents, and do not include additional marks for the historical version of the specification.
The contents of GUIDELINES FOR THE APPLICATION OF ADDITIONAL MARKS TO SEAGOING VESSELS mainly include the following six aspects:
1. The Rules & Guidelines referenced in the preparation of the guidelines and other acceptable equivalents.
2. Conditions for granting Classification Symbols and additional marks.
3. Classification Symbols and additional mark are classified according to ship type, navigation area or route restrictions, special tasks, cargo and loading characteristics, special performance, automatic control, special equipment and systems, special inspection, environmental protection and cargo refrigeration equipment. Its identification requirements and ordering rules.
4. Chinese and English comparison and content interpretation of additional mark.
5. The additional mark of the ship type is in the form of dry bulk cargo, container, liquid cargo, gas transport, Ro/Ro, passenger ship, offshore operation, engineering, dredger, non-self-propelled and high performance. Classify and give the applicable relationship between each ship type and different Classification Symbols and additional mark.
6.According to the different professions of hull, turbine, electrical, etc., a guide for granting additional signs is given. Granting guidelines requires specific specifications, guidelines, and other equivalents that meet the Design/Review Technical Requirements and Construction/Operational Inspection Technical Requirements.
